I came across this video (thank you Allure) and had to share it.
I think there are 2 main takeaways:
First, we are slowly seeing that differences should be embraced (we don’t all need to have straight blond hair). There are many different hair types and styles and not only one definition of beautiful hair. This video is about hair but it extends to many other facets that we often seek to change about yourselves in order to fit in.
Second, it emphasizes the need to see more representation on social media. Young girls are growing up in a generation where they are glued to their phones and social media and they themselves are demanding to not only see one type of beauty but many! More diversity across the spectrum – height, weight, race, ethnicity, hair, skin and so much more.
